David Morris MP has urged Lancaster City Council to move their planned flood prevention work for Cote Beck forward. The work to protect 6 properties in the area in Halton, which flooded in December, has been planned for 2020/21.
David Morris MP said, "After speaking to the Floods Minister and the Environment Agency the work planned by Lancaster City Council to protect the Homes at Cote Beck in Halton is certainly welcome, but following the flooding we saw in November should happen as soon as possible.
"People whose homes have already flooded should not have to wait 2 years for their homes to be protected. I have written to the Chief Executive of Lancaster City Council to urge that this work is carried out as soon as possible."
